The Voice

When you think of talented singers, who comes to your mind? Screamers, crooners, smooth singers, or guys/girls with that rough edge? If you could have any person's singing voice, who would it would it be? I think about this sometimes and it amazes me how talented some people are vocally. The way they inject pure emotion and rich tones into their words is often amazing to me. There are some voices that I will listen to all day on repeat and not tire of it. There's something in a great music that is mesmerizing, whether it be the guitar playing, the voices, or the entire production...this is why I love music. It speaks to another dimension of life by telling a story that can't be told any other way. Enough of me talking out of my ass, here's two singers I really love. Brent Smith of Shinedown and Aaron Lewis from Staind. In the Shinedown video, which he does without a mic or anything, I love the emotion and grittyness of his voice. Aaron Lewis is smoother but also infuses great emotion and an edge as well. Listen Loud and enjoy.
